Beau Henry Redknapp is an English academy footballer developing within Brentford FC’s youth system. He plays mainly in central midfield, although his goal return shows that he can influence attacks. His progress at Brentford is giving him a record of his own.

    Beau Henry Redknapp Age

Beau Henry Redknapp was born on 10 November 2008 in London, England. He is 17 years old as of August 2026 and will turn 18 in November. His parents are former England midfielder Jamie Redknapp and singer Louise Redknapp. His paternal grandfather is Harry Redknapp, the former player and manager.

Beau Henry Redknapp’s Early Life and Family

Growing Up in a Famous Household

Beau Henry Redknapp grew up with football, music and television forming part of family life. His father played for AFC Bournemouth, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton before moving into broadcasting. His mother became famous as a member of Eternal before building a solo career.

His grandfather Harry managed clubs including West Ham United, Portsmouth, Tottenham Hotspur and Queens Park Rangers. This family experience exposed him to the discipline needed in elite sport. Beau has an older brother, Charley Redknapp. He also has a younger paternal half-brother, Raphael, from Jamie Redknapp’s marriage to Frida Andersson. Jamie and Louise ended their marriage in 2017.

    The Meaning Behind His Name

His full name is Beau Henry Redknapp. The name has a family connection because Harry Redknapp’s given name is Henry. He is now shaping a separate identity through football.

Beau Henry Redknapp Education and School Football

Beau Henry Redknapp was recognised by Epsom College in June 2024 after gaining selection for an Independent Schools Football Association representative side. This shows that his development included school football as well as club training. Details about Beau’s current studies remain private, but his school football recognition marked an important stage.

    Beau Henry Redknapp’s Academy Journey

    From Sutton United to Brentford

Before joining Brentford, Beau played for Sutton United. Brentford brought him into its academy after a successful trial when the club relaunched its youth structure. He formally joined in 2024 and featured for the Under-18 squad during the 2024–25 season. A trip to Spain included a match against Sevilla Under-18s, testing his decision-making and technical skill.

    Signing as a Brentford Scholar

Ahead of the 2025–26 season, Beau signed a scholar agreement with Brentford. A scholarship bridges youth football and the senior game through professional training and age-group competition. Brentford described him as an intelligent central midfielder with calmness, technical quality and a good understanding of the game. These qualities matter in midfield, where players must choose the right pass and protect the team’s shape.

    Playing Position and Football Style

Beau mainly operates as a central midfielder, but Brentford has also called him an attacking midfielder. His 2025–26 scoring record supports that description. He can move forward from midfield and contribute goals as well as assists. His strongest confirmed qualities include composure, intelligence, technical skill and awareness. He has also spoken about improving his decisions on the ball, tackling, regaining possession and work without the ball.

    Areas of Development

His targets include more goals and assists, quicker choices and stronger defensive work. He missed part of pre-season through injury before the 2025–26 campaign. During recovery, he worked on upper-body strength. He later said this helped him manage the physical demands of academy football.

    Breakthrough 2025–26 Season

The 2025–26 campaign became the strongest season of Beau’s young career. He finished with 13 goals and six assists for Brentford’s Under-18 side. Those figures showed a steady attacking return from midfield. His form earned him Brentford Under-18s Player of the Year in May 2026. The award recognised his performances, work rate, attitude and progress. It marked an important step for a first-year scholar.

    Memorable Under-18 Performances

Beau produced important moments during the season. He scored a late equaliser in a 3–3 draw with Charlton Athletic and found the net during a cup victory against Queens Park Rangers. He also scored in Denmark against FC Copenhagen Under-17s.

One of his finest moments came in the FA Youth Cup against Chelsea in December 2025. After hitting the crossbar from distance, he scored with a long-range free-kick during Brentford’s narrow defeat. The goal showed confidence and technique.

In March 2026, he scored twice as Brentford beat Swansea City Under-18s 4–0. He later scored in a 2–0 win over Barnsley, helping his team remain near the top of the league table.

    Progress into Brentford’s Under-21 Team

Strong Under-18 form brought opportunities at the next level. Beau made his Brentford Under-21 debut in February 2026 during a victory over Bristol City. It placed him against older opponents. In March, he came off the bench against Bournemouth Under-21s and scored the winner with the final kick. He struck again against Peterborough United in April. Both goals supported Brentford’s successful league campaign.

These appearances did not make him a first-team player, but they showed that the club trusted him with higher-level minutes. As of August 2026, he is best described as a Brentford academy midfielder with experience for the Under-18 and Under-21 sides.

    Jamie Redknapp Beau Henry Redknapp

Jamie Redknapp offers his son direct knowledge of professional football. Beau has described his father as a mentor who gives honest advice about patience, hard work and setbacks. A famous surname also creates pressure. Beau must earn opportunities through training and match performances. His award-winning season showed that his progress was based on results rather than family attention alone.

    Social Media and Personal Life

Beau uses Instagram under the username @beau_redknapp. His account identifies him as an athlete and includes Brentford FC in the biography. As of August 2026, it had 25 posts, about 20,700 followers and followed 913 accounts. On 26 June 2026, he shared an update captioned “off season work.” The post reflected his summer fitness work. His online activity centres mainly on football, training and family moments. He keeps his private life away from heavy media attention.

    Current Status and Confirmed Limits

Beau remains an academy player rather than a member of Brentford’s senior first team. No competitive first-team debut has been confirmed. His official height, weight, preferred foot, permanent squad number, salary and future contract terms have not been published by the club. He should therefore be described as an Under-18 scholar who has also earned Under-21 experience. This wording reflects his genuine progress without placing him at a level he has not yet reached.

The Future of Beau Henry Redknapp

Beau Henry Redknapp has made an encouraging start, but he is still at an early stage. The next steps may include regular Under-21 football, further physical development and the chance to earn a senior professional contract. His 13 goals, six assists and Under-18 Player of the Year award provide a strong base. Academy football is highly competitive, and continued progress will depend on consistency, fitness, discipline and response to coaching.

He has football knowledge within his family and a clear development route at Brentford. More importantly, he is beginning to build achievements that belong to him. The coming seasons will show how far his talent and hard work can take him in English football.
