Todd Carty is an English actor and director whose career has lasted for more than five decades. He became familiar to television audiences through a series of memorable roles, beginning with Tucker Jenkins in Grange Hill, followed by Mark Fowler in EastEnders and PC Gabriel Kent in The Bill. Born Todd Robert Carty on 31 August 1963, Carty was raised in London and has Irish roots through his mother, Margaret, from Limerick. He was also known as Todd John Jennings after adoption by his stepfather, Thomas Jennings.
